When I first came across the Stroke & Roll system of bowling I was curious of what it was all about. What I knew about Bowling was self-taught from reading or from other bowling participants who I thought had a better knowledge of the game than I. I had never had any formal instruction.

The first night that I tried Stroke & Roll, I was surprised how little I knew about the basic game of Bowling. I told one of my friends that was with me, "What did I get myself into?" But that night I made up my mind I was going to give myself the best chance of learning this new system of Bowling and give myself a fair chance of learning and not give into my 'old' way of bowling.      I learned how to hold the ball and how to swing the ball. I learned to slow my steps way down. I learned how important 'balance' at the Foul Line is. I also learned the reason why each part of my approach was so important. Everything has been explained in great detail to me but never more than I could handle at one time.      As time has gone on I can see how Stroke & Roll is easy on my body. It's a system that I will be able to bowl the rest of my life. I feel I can compete at a high level. I have learned not to dwell on the bad shots but remember the good parts of my game. I like the way the mental part of Stroke & Roll has helped me stay calm during a string of strikes or when I get a split. It's just another spare that sometimes I surprise myself and pick it up.      I hope more and more people become part of the 'Stroke & Roll Nation'. It's exciting when in a 'group' session you see people improving their game and having fun again. That's what Stroke & Roll was meant to be; have fun & meet people that love the sport of Bowling.
