Tip of the Month - November 2026

A very Key component to make a regular part of competitive thought processing is to ALWAYS be aware of your ‘Body Language’ (Negative? Positive?), ‘Words’ that come out of the mouth (Negative? Positive?) and even ‘Tone of Voice’ (Destructive? Nurturing?).

We not only want to train ourselves for positive reinforcement but we must also know what ‘air’ we are giving off to our opponents!

Just like ‘instincts’ pick up on every little move we make (positive or negative) and wanting to prepare for a great upcoming shot; we also need to be aware of the messages we are sending to others (Teammates, Opponents, Spectators, etc…).

   Example:
Everyone has seen the Bowlers that are scoring well and the body language they omit (positive) and most Bowlers that are bowling poorly give off a different ‘air’ (negative).

So, by training ourselves for competition it is imperative to be totally aware of our Body Language, Words that come out of our mouths and the Tone of Voice we use. We certainly don’t want our opponent to feed off our lack of confidence or poor bowling and we certainly don’t want our instincts to feed off any negativity either as that will hinder our upcoming shots in a negative way.

By training ourselves to be totally aware of our Body Language, Words and Tone of Voice we will be implementing a winner’s mentality (all the time), and our instincts will perform better in all situations too.

Perhaps some ROLE-PLAYING IN THE MIRROR since sometimes we are not aware of how we act or sound?

This is another form of practicing Mirror-Time AND ‘visualizing’ to help us perform better on the lanes!

And, as a person, who do we want to be remembered as?  Positive Pete or Downer Debbie?
